Welcome to Seas the Bay! Our home is a beautiful 1920s Victorian cottage that has been completely renovated & is on the National Registry of Historic Homes. The home was featured on HGTV’s Beachfront Bargain Hunt, and is nestled between the Young House Love renovations- “the Pink House” & the “Doublemint Duplex”. The home is a 3 Bedroom/3 full Bathrooms (sleeps 8). In the heart of town- a block from Central Park, a 1.5 block walk to Mason St/historic downtown, & 4 blocks to the beach! ***Seasonal Note: During peak season (June through August) we only allow Saturday to Saturday rentals. Please shoot us a note if you need a shorter stay and we can chat! *** Our home, Seas the Bay, is located in the heart of Cape Charles on Peach Street. You’ll walk up to a spacious front porch with ample seating, complete with a porch swing to enjoy your morning coffee or a good book. You’ll enter the home with a NEST keyless entry and be greeted by a spacious foyer and living area. Downstairs.... The living room has a smart TV (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc) with a large sectional for everyone to relax. The entire house has full and fast WiFi. You’ll walk through the living room and into the open concept dining room/kitchen space which has been completely renovated. The dining table seats 6, with 2 additional seats at the kitchen bar. The kitchen has updated appliances, a beautiful farmhouse sink, a full coffee station with drip coffee, as well as a Keurig and complimentary coffee, a instant tea kettle, dishwasher, and the list goes on. The area is spacious and built with families in mind. Off the kitchen there is a full bathroom with a shower. There is also a full laundry room. The home has tankless hot water- so everyone can enjoy a nice hot shower after a full day at the beach. There is a second set of “secret stairs” (as our kids call it) that lead to the 2nd floor. French doors open off the dining room to a shaded back patio, a propane grill, and plenty of seating to relax. Our shed has a beach wagon, beach chairs, umbrellas, and sand toys for guests to use during their stay. There is also a Radio Flyer wagon to pull kiddos or gear! Upstairs... **all bedrooms in the home were recently upgraded to new memory foam mattresses** You’ll walk upstairs to a bright, spacious master bedroom with a brand new memory foam king bed and a private bathroom with shower. (Plenty of extra room for a pack and play or air mattress if needed). ***All bedrooms have black-out curtains and sound machines*** The 2nd bedroom has a King bed, ceiling fan, exposed brick, and large closet. The 3rd bedroom is the “bunk room” and a kiddo’s dream. It has two sets of bunks (3 twins and 1 full). It is bright and colorful and built with summer sleepovers in mind! The 4th “bonus room” is a loft area with another full bathroom (tub/shower). There is a twin daybed and a TV with DVD player for the kids to curl up with a movie after a long day of building sand castles. (Plenty of room here for a pack and play or air mattress). This space also has a dedicated work space with a desk and desk chair if you have to work during your stay. All linens provided, including beach towels, hand towels, bath towels, wash cloths, etc. HVAC throughout the entire home. Dual zone upstairs/downstairs. The entire property is all yours! Two owners are just a quick text or phone call away- with a full local team of “helpers” if you need anything. Peach Street is one of the charming parts of Cape Charles that made us fall in love when we were vacationers, ourselves. It’s quiet & lined with beautiful old trees. Seas the Bay is less than a block to the iconic Peach Beach Shack, where people line up in the summer for oversized shaved ice (make sure you try the Tiger’s Blood!). We are infamous for being located between the two Young House Love houses: “The Doublemint Duplex” & “The Pink House”. One block away you’ll find the adorable Central Park that has a walking/jogging paved track, a wonderful playground called “Cape Kids”, and a grassy area where you can find free concerts on Saturdays in the summer. 1.5 blocks away you’ll arrive at the historic downtown on Mason Street. Our “Main Street”, which is home to local shops like the Cape Charles Candy Shop, the Boardwalk gift shop, the famous ice cream spot: Brown Dog Ice Cream, a local cidery: Buskeys on the Bay, a local distillery (try the maple bourbon!), Deadrise Pies with awesome homemade pizzas, & Kelly’s Gingernut Pub, which was an old bank (you can even dine inside the old vault!). 4 blocks away is our favorite spot on earth: the Cape Charles Beach. It is calm and picturesque, with tons of little sand bars for the kids to play on when the tide goes out. The Chesapeake Bay is a beautiful spot to take out a kayak or SUP, and the peaceful surf makes it ideal. Parking is ample & free. There is also a Fishing Pier, with free fishing and no license required. With our great location we really are in walking distance to everything Cape Charles has to offer. We have a Radio Flyer wagon to pull the kids and your gear to the beach, playground, or shopping district. Most guests rent a golf cart during their stay. We also recommend two local vendors: East Shore Custom Carts or CC Ryder Golf Cart Rentals. CC Ryder is 1.5 blocks away from the house.
