Cabin is located in the woods next to a private lake. Just 2 minutes from the Kasilof River and 12 minutes from the Kenai River, this dry-cabin is perfect for fishermen or families looking to get away for a relaxing camping experience. There are two bunk beds, a table, fire pit outside, picnic table, and charcoal bbq. There is a bathroom with flushing toilet and running water located in camp. No shower. There is also a small store to purchase sundries like firewood, charcoal, coffee, snacks. There are four cabins located in this fish-camp. It’s a woodsy area with a lake. There is state of the art mosquito abatement however, nothing in Alaska is mosquito free! Bring spray. The Kenai and Kasilof are just minutes away and there is parking onsite. Owners are on the adjacent property and can interact with you as much or little as you like. Wonderfully peaceful, secluded area. Very close to river and abundant with wildlife. Moose, salmon, eagles, and the occasional bear are real sightings here. There is a small grocery store "The Merc", Rocky’s Cafe with an excellent menu, The Decanter Restaurant and Bar, and a few other local eateries within 5 minutes either direction. SALMON FISHING The Kasilof River Bridge and drift boat launch is 2 miles away. There is a great path to a riverside sandbar you can fish from. (I am happy to share some fishing spots with you! So many!). Kasilof Beach is about 5 minutes away. Great for dip netting salmon and agate hunting. Crooked Creek Park is located within 8 minute of the house. This is an amazing location for fishing and getting those picturesque views of glacier blue river water. ACTIVITIES / SHOPPING The city of Soldotna is just 8 miles up Sterling Highway and has everything you need. Sportsman's Wearhouse, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Mall, Movie theatre and many parks and restaurants. The Kenai River runs through town and there are MANY fishing locations to choose from. There are also some nice museums boasting a lot of the cultural history and wildlife of Alaska. DEEP SEA FISHING For deep see fishing, you can take fishing charters out of Ninilchik (15 minutes away) south to Homer into Katchemak Bay, or drive down to Homer (1 hour south) and launch from there. If you like Oysters you MUST stop in at Katchemak Bay Oyster restaurant on the spit. Its amazing! LAKE FISHING AND BOATING There are several nearby lakes with great fishing, swimming, and kayaking. Johnson Lake is just 2 minutes away. It has Rainbow trout, Coho, Dolly Varden, Lake Trout..... There is also Pollard Lake and Roque Lake within a couple minutes drive. All stocked by Fish and Game. The lake by the camp does not have fishing, but is great for watersports.
