Sunny two bedroom one bath house on a quiet tree lined street in Mesilla Park. Enjoy this peaceful retreat close to everything. Conveniently located near the Mesilla Plaza, NMSU, and the Convention Center. Refrigerated air set up on the Nest system. The house has internet access. The wood floors, sash windows and front screen porch give this house the character we fell in love with. We've tried to decorate it to feel like home, and provide all the amenities you might need while you're staying. This cute bungalow has two bedrooms and a back room with a love seat sofa bed (full bed). The back room also serves as a TV room and houses the washer and dryer. One bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second bedroom has a trundle bed which can become two twin beds. The twin beds can be pushed together and be dressed with king sheets, but please note, it is still two twins masquerading as a king! Original cabinetry in fully equipped kitchen. Please note that this house does not focus on TV. There is no television in the living room; only in the back sun room. It is a smart TV. We do have wireless internet access. This is a non-smoking home. This is a free standing property and guests will have the whole house and yard. Guests will have access to carport parking. There's room for an additional car, and there's neighborhood on-street parking. We live just a mile down the road. If schedules allow, we'd love to meet you upon your arrival and show you around. (It's really helpful for us to know your approximate time of arrival a day or two in advance so we can arrange our day to be there to meet you.) Check in available after 3pm. We will set your code on the keypad to the last four digits of your cell phone. Checkout by noon. We're happy to try and accommodate early check-in /late check out when our schedule allows. The house is located in a lovely, quiet, tree lined neighborhood known as Mesilla Park. It's located between NMSU and Mesilla. You'll find lots of people walking their dogs in the neighborhood. There's a shaded grassy park with playground equipment and plenty of room to kick a soccer ball just two blocks away. If you're a runner or enjoy long walks, there is a beautiful irrigation ditch to run along not too far away. Down the street is one of our favorite authentic Mexican restaurants, La Cocina. It is open for breakfast and lunch. Cheap, authentic and good food! Around the corner is Pastaggio's (formerly Lorenzo's and Pastallini), which is hands down the best Italian food in town. Take out or eat in. Historic Mesilla Plaza is a short drive or nice walk. It's a charming historic area with a plaza, an adobe church, shops and great restaurants. Feel like a local as you wander through the award winning Las Cruces Farmers and Crafts Market. This is a great way to spend a Wednesday or Saturday morning. We'll share more of our favorites when you get here. A city bus stop is in the neighborhood and can take you downtown. Las Cruces isn't famous for it's public transportation, but this bus gets you downtown hourly. We do have a couple of old bicycles if you'd like to meander around the neighborhood or if you'd like to use one to commute to NMSU. They're old and not fancy, but if you'd like them please just let me know in advance. We can also put you in touch with the local bike shop (Outdoor Adventures) if you'd like to rent mountain bikes. Refrigerated air makes for a very comfortable stay! This house is situated 1/4 mile from railroad tracks. Offsite RV or trailer parking available by special arrangement. This is a smoke free, pet free home.
