The cottage was built in 1790 and is situated in the heart of bourbon country. It has been updated to preserve the history of the building, while providing the comforts of a modern dwelling. Due to its proximity to the center of beautiful downtown Bardstown, it is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and historic sites, while still serving as a cozy oasis. Inside, guests will be surrounded by the comforts of a southern cottage, while still having access to the private garden. The nature of an old structure is interesting in itself. I have carefully updated the cottage while keeping the integrity of the original workplace. Master En Suite: Located on the ground level, the room has a queen size bed with French doors opening into the outside garden area. The bathroom has a footed tub with unlimited hot water. Upstairs bedroom: A small staircase, off the living area, leads to the bedroom on the second floor. In this large room, there is a King size bed. Please note the staircase is rather steep and may be a challenge to some. Upstairs bedroom 2: A small bedroom down the hall from bedroom 1 has two twin beds off a small office area. Kitchen: The entryway opens into the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, and full sized refrigerator. Guests are provided with a Keurig coffee maker and K cups. A teakettle, teapot, and tea is also available. Filtered water is dispensed from the refrigerator. Small Bathroom: Located on the ground level, the 2nd bath has a tiled shower, toilet, and pedestal sink. Towels, hand towels, and washcloths are provided. Individual soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion are also made available. This bath services the upstairs guest room. Living/Dining Area: A small gas fireplace has been placed in the original forge. There is a smart TV with access to Youtube TV, Netflix, Disney +, and HBO MAX. A full size Harvest table and chairs is located within the space. A small staircase leading upstairs is located here. Luxury is feeling comfortable. Not only comfortable, but cuddled. You will have full access to the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living room/dining room. My location is in the heart of our bustling town, yet while inside, you feel very insulated from the goings on. Because of the prime location, there is some level of street noise inside the home. I find it comforting and it rarely is a nuisance. The Old Coppersmith's Shop is located in the center of Bardstown. There is a convenience store nearby and plenty city of parking. The location is one block off the main street and within walking distance of shopping, dining, and nightlife. We have a taxi service available 24 hours a day.
