Large living room with lots of seating. Original art and vintage photos tell the story of living life in the country. It's quiet, quaint & comfortable and while it's not fancy, we think it's fantastic! The home has vintage charms and quirks but also has upgraded amenities, wifi, and comfy queen beds! Close to airport and more. This home has been maintained and preserved. Many essential updates have been made. This does not mean the space has been fully renovated. We love the charm and character of this historic farmhouse and wanted to preserve many of those features for that authentic charm which cannot be recreated. So you'll have lots of modern amenities but note that the home has quirks. Character. It's not "perfect"- but we love it that way! We hope like-minded travellers will appreciate the care we've taken to create a warm and welcoming space while preserving some of the quirks and faults that naturally happen in a structure thats over 100 years old! When we say it's an old farmhouse, it really is! It has new hvac, has been carpeted for coziness, has a newer roof and electrical is safe and sound also. The owners have replaced the important parts while preserving the quaint character and we are so excited to share it. What might you miss? There isn't a dishwasher or a garbage disposal. So, you'll have to slow down and do those dishes by hand. There isn't an outlet by the bed in the smaller bedroom. So that guest will have to plug their phone in across the room which we think is actually a great way to unplug and reset! (or bring your wireless power banks if you need a phone charging near you at night). What wont you miss? You won't miss traffic noise. It's quiet out here. You won't miss out on comfort, because we've given you the coziest beds and furnishings to enjoy. You won't miss out on style because the home if filled with interesting original art and photography. You won't miss the city since you'll have wifi and a smart tv and potentially even some deer and turkey sightings while still being minutes from town. Also, you get to boast that you stayed at a little farmhouse on a prairie. All in all- we think this is a pretty special little place. Guests will have access to the home and yard area. The surrounding buildings are not for guest use but guests will still enjoy the character and ambiance they add. While this home sits on 5 acres of wild prairie it is in a small neighborhood. It's rural, but not far from town or amenities. Paved road back to the main road and then a few minutes to town. Lovely area with lots of space, trees, and gorgeous views of sunsets.
