If you are a modest traveler who appreciates maximum privacy with much comfort and ready for an adventure to travel time, then you want to try this old, simple 550 sqft 1-bedroom home. It was built in the 50s, has very low ceilings, goofy wavy floors, and crooked everything. Nothing is shiny new, but it's cute and cozy, and you'll feel like a little Royalty in your castle. Getting contractors is like a HIGHEST BIDDER WAR currently, and we appreciate your kind understanding and patience as we get things fixed up again. We started some work inside, and the bathroom has been updated already. And the house is still comfy to live in, though . You won't find anything more unique in our college town than this lil' thing of home, that was may be originally designed for dwarfs (or hobbits)... You will enter into a good sized living room, that leads into an amazing spacious kitchen (compared to the total size of the home) and then takes you into the one bedroom of the house with the full bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can have breakfast at home or prepare your daily meals. The entire house is heated with a gas oven in the living room that looks like a fireplace, giving you a romantic feel. Extra heaters are provided in the bedroom. You have a full-size bed to collect your nightly dreams and the sofa in the living room can be opened to a full-size sleeper. Thus, up to four people can comfortably share the space. Look at the photos to see how you convert the sofa the sleeper sofa . Please take note that this is an old , dated home where nothing in the house is shiny new, everything is dated and well used, but it is clean and sanitary so that you may reside there with comfort. So if you expect top notch first class hotel service, then you may not want to book this place . But if you are up to staying at a great hide-out with a touch of adventure which you won't find in any hotel and that at a very reasonable rate, then PLEASE BE OUR GUEST. You even have a washer/dryer in the house. Unfortunately, I am not allowing dogs anymore. I have tried, but I am exhausted from having to pay for the few who think that the host would have to be responsible for their dogs house manners (or lack thereof). The entire house is yours to reign. No sharing except with the people you came with on your reservation... ;) I live just 20 minutes away in case you need personal assistance. The house is located in an older part of Norman with most homes built in the 40's and 50s. One of the first Airbnb-er criticized the house was located in "not the best" part of town. However, it is my opinion that it actually IS a BETTER part of the city. Not only because it is so conveniently located close to everything like 15 min to OU campus, or old historic Downtown and all kinds of shopping and restaurants . But mainly because it is an original part of Norman where the first better incomers established their lives. It may well be correct that It is not the part of town where the richest of the rich live. But the home owners here are equally proud of their place. They keep their homes and the area well maintained within the limited means of their lower income. And THAT makes the area so special. You will meet down-to-earth and friendly Okie folks. Come with an open mind and you will enjoy your stay. Neighbors have dogs so they alert when strangers approach. It is kinda "free" safety feature. But they are usually quiet at night.
